Boldt Castle,on Heart Island, was to be the testimony of the unsurpassed love of a man for his wife.The magnificence of the structure was to be equalled only by George Boldt's adoration of Louise, who was the love of his life and reason for the construction of such an elaborate summer home. In the year of 1904, just one year before the project completed, Louise suddently passed away. A few days later, a telegram with only one line of text was received by the work crew "Stop All Works" Three hundred workmen dropped their tools and left the island, never to return.Heart broken Mr. Boldt could not imagine his dreamed castle without his beloved. Boldt never returned to the Island,abandant the structure as a monument of his love.
